Teesta Low Dam Stg-4 HEP- All Units Commissioned

Fitwell Construction has completed the Erection Testing and Commissioning works of 4X40MW Kaplan Hydro Turbine Generating Units at Teesta Low Dam Stage-4 HEP, Darjeeling District, West Bengal for Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd- Power Sector Eastern Region (BHEL-PSER), Kolkata, India. The work commenced in March 2009 and was carried to its culmination by our team of skilled employees amidst challenging conditions of weather and law and order disturbances.

About Teesta Low Dam Stage-4 HEP:

The Project area is located at about 350 m upstream of Teesta Kalikhola confluence on NH-31A and 18.3 km downstream of Teesta Bridge near Teesta Bazar village in District Darjeeling. The NH 31A connects the state of Sikkim with the rest of the country via Siliguri. The nearest rail head is New Jalpaiguri and nearest airport is Bagdogra. It is a run of the river scheme with diurnal storage for peaking purpose. The estimated annual energy generation is 720 MU in a 90% dependable year. [Source: NHPC Ltd website]
