Fitwell Construction awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Certification

We proudly announce that we have received the coveted ISO 9001:2015 quality certification from QRO Certification LLP, an affiliate of EGAC, Cairo and IAF. The certification is awarded for Quality Management in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Services and Erection, Renovation and Maintenance of Hydro-electric powerhouses and switchyards. Fitwell Construction Receives Performance Certificate for its Work at Punatsangchu-1 Project

Fitwell Construction gratefully acknowledges the Performance Certificate issued by Shri Arun Goyal, Chief Engineer (Generation), Punatsangchhu-1 Hydroelectric Project Authority (PHPA-1), Bhutan for the satisfactory execution of the work at 6X200MW Punatsangchhu-1 Hydro Electric Project. We are thankful to our customer M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd- Power Sector Eastern Region, Kolkata for their continued support, and our valued employees for the unceasing effort which helped us achieve this honour.

Fitwell Construction was awarded the work of Erection Testing and Commissioning of Pkg-B 6X200MW Francis Hydro Turbine Generating sets of Punatsangchhu-1 Hydro Electric Project, Bhutan by M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Power Sector Eastern Region (PSER), Kolkata. Our team of skilled employees started work at the site in September 2014.

About Punatsangchhu-1 HEP:

Punatsangchhu-I HEP is a 1200 MW run-of-the river project located on the left bank of Punatsangchu river in Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag( District) in Western Bhutan. Its estimated capacity is 5700 million units of electricity in an average year. Construction of Punatsangchhu-I HEP was commenced in November 2008 at a project cost of Rs 3514.8 crore. Teesta Low Dam Stg-4 HEP- All Units Commissioned

Fitwell Construction has completed the Erection Testing and Commissioning works of 4X40MW Kaplan Hydro Turbine Generating Units at Teesta Low Dam Stage-4 HEP, Darjeeling District, West Bengal for Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd- Power Sector Eastern Region (BHEL-PSER), Kolkata, India. The work commenced in March 2009 and was carried to its culmination by our team of skilled employees amidst challenging conditions of weather and law and order disturbances.

About Teesta Low Dam Stage-4 HEP:

The Project area is located at about 350 m upstream of Teesta Kalikhola confluence on NH-31A and 18.3 km downstream of Teesta Bridge near Teesta Bazar village in District Darjeeling. The NH 31A connects the state of Sikkim with the rest of the country via Siliguri. The nearest rail head is New Jalpaiguri and nearest airport is Bagdogra. It is a run of the river scheme with diurnal storage for peaking purpose. The estimated annual energy generation is 720 MU in a 90% dependable year. [Source: NHPC Ltd website]

Sardar Sarovar HEP (1450 MW)- Fitwell awarded Operation contract

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) have once again awarded the Operation of Sardar Sarovar Project’s two powerhouses to Fitwell Constructions on a biennial basis. Fitwell Constructions will provide skilled operators for the 6X200MW River Bank Power House and 5X50MW Canal Head Power House until 2016. We thank our clients GSECL for the continuing trust reposed in us. Fitwell Constructions is proud to be associated with erection and operational activities of the Sardar Sarovar Project since 1990.

BHEL awarded coveted Maharatna status by Government of India

State power equipment-maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has been given Maharatna status by the government. “Consistent high performance, while operating in a highly competitive environment and fulfilment of the required eligibility criteria has enabled BHEL to attain the Maharatna status,” BHEL said in a statement. A Maharatna firm can take investment decisions up to Rs.50 billion without going to the government. A company qualifying for the Maharatna status should have an average annual turnover of more than Rs.250 billion over the last three years. – From MSN India news

Kameng HEP (4X150 MW)- Erection of Draft Tube Liner of Units 3 & 4 commences

We have been awarded “Erection of Draft Tube Liner of Units 3 and 4” at 4X150 MW Kameng Hydro Electric Project (Arunachal Pradesh) by M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Company of India. The Project is owned by M/s NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation), a Category-1 Miniratna company owned by the Government of India. Erection activities for this prestigious project have commenced from 1st September, 2013.

4X42MW Periyar Project- Two units running successfully

We are proud to announce that two units of the 4X42MW Periyar Hydro Electric Project (situated at Lower Camp, Theni District, Tamil Nadu) are running successfully post-commissioning. Work had commenced at this prestigious project in February 2009. A salient feature of the project is that work is carried out on a single unit at a time, keeping the other three units in the powerhouse operational. Tashiding (2X48.5MW)- Awarded to Fitwell Construction Pvt Ltd

We proudly announce that M/s Alstom Projects Ltd, Vadodara have selected us as their primary contractor for the complete erection and commissioning works of the Electromechanical package at the Tashiding (2X48.5 MW) Hydro Electric Project. The project, located in Jorethang (Sikkim) is owned by M/s Dans Energy Pvt Ltd, New Delhi.

Integrated Kashang (3×65 MW) HEP- Work awarded

We proudly announce that M/s Andritz Hydro Pvt Ltd, Faridabad have selected us as their primary erection contractor at the Integrated Kashang (3X65 MW) Hydro Electric Project. The project, located in Kinnaur District (Himachal Pradesh) is owned by M/s Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (HPPCL), a public sector enterprise of Himachal Pradesh. Work has commenced at the project, with a targeted commissioning date of August 2014.
